Specialized assay services are performed for the bulk of the animal and human studies at the Joslin Diabetes Center. Please note that prices have changed for assay core tests as of June 1 2008.
Routine hormone assays for animal and human studies include: insulin, C-peptide,
leptin, glucagon, ICAM, VCAM, TNF-alpha, C-reactive protein, Interferon-gamma,
Interleukins -2, -4, -5 and -10. Routine metabolite assays for animal and
human studies include: free fatty acids, cortisol, triglycerides and cholesterol.
It is proposed to start testing reproductive hormones at some point in
the future. The assay measure FFA will have a slightly increased turn around
time than usual. This is because we plan to accommodate more samples using
a single kit while maintaining the same price for each sample. However,
if you need urgent results for a small number of samples(that does not
utilize the complete kit), please be aware you will be charged the price
for the entire kit. In all cases we usually wait a reasonable time (one
week) to receive additional samples to use the full kit. Thanks for using
